While most of the focus is on Mercury outboards, there are lots of pictures of Johnsons and Evinrudes also.In this video collection, you get the following four films:Film #1: "Field Testing the Mercury" 1957 - a really nice film on how well built Mercurys are. Lots of testing of various models in Kissimmee, Florida. My kids really loved this film... there are great shots of runabouts with Mercs jumping over sandbars and logs and driving through thick swamps of water hyacinths! In one nice section, three Crosby Boats are fitted with different engines. Then they compare Mercurys to Evinrudes and Johnsons ... in one scene an Evinrude falls of the transom and flys into the boat after hitting a log! The Mercury just soars right over the log, of course!Film #2: "1948 New York Outboard Marathon" - a very rare boat race from Albany to NYC with all styles of boats...all featuring Mercury outboards! Lots of nice close-ups of vintage Mercs from 5HP up to racing Mercurys! Also great vintage Johnsons & Evinrudes.Film #3:"1949 New York Outboard Marathon" - similiar to the above film, but with different boats and different Mercurys, and other outboards.Film #4:"Outboard Thrills" - a wild look at all the various uses for Mercury outboards, from work to play.
